NIC has a strong and capable management that provides oversight for the Commission.
The Management Team has been effective and has contributed to establishing fairly good
corporate governance. They include:
|S. N. K. Davor - Ag. Commissioner of Insurance|
The Commissioner is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Commission.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Davor held senior management positions at the Bank of Ghana, Cal Bank and ADB. He holds B.Sc. Admin (Accounting) and MBA (Finance) degrees from the University of Ghana, Legon; and a member of ICA (Ghana).
|Mrs Emma Ocran - Director, Legal Services|
Mrs. Emma Ocran is a Barrister at-law and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana. She holds an EMBA from GIMPA. Her entire working career has been spent in the Insurance Industry. In 1993 she joined the National Insurance Commission (NIC). Mrs.Ocran is responsible for ensuring that NIC operates, essentially within the Insurance regulatory framework.
|Mr. Michael Andoh - Head of Supervision|
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration from the University of Ghana Business School, and an MBA from the University of Leicester in the UK. He is also a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants in the UK, a member of the Ghana Institute of Taxation and an Associate of the Toronto Centre. He has worked with the NIC since 2000. Prior to joining the NIC, he worked with KPMG for three years. He is responsible for licensing, on-site inspections, off-site analysis and general supervision of insurance and broking companies.
|Mr. Joseph Bentor - Head, Finance & Administration|
A graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical). He also holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana Business School. Prior to joining the NIC in 2006, he had worked with the Volta Aluminum Co. Ltd. (VALCO), Air Liquide Ghana Ltd., and Mechanical Lloyd Company Ltd.
He is responsible for managing the Finance, Administration, Human Resource and Corporate Planning. He assists the Commissioner in the day-to-day administration of the NIC.
|Mr. Martin Abayateye - Internal Auditor|
Mr. Martin Abayateye is the Internal Auditor. He has been in the Commission since January 2006. Prior to his appointment with the Commission, he worked with La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Novotel Hotel and Deloitte. Mr. Martin Abayateye is a member of the ICAG, IIA and has an eMBA degree in Project Management from PGSM.
|Mr. Isaac Buabeng - Head of Marketing, Research & External Relation|
Mr. Isaac Yaw Buabeng is the Head of Marketing, Research and External Relations. He has been in the Commission since January 2006. Prior to his appointment with the Commission, he was the Head of Marine and Aviation Department of the State Insurance Company of Ghana. Mr. Buabeng is a graduate of the University of Ghana, Legon. He is also an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK (ACII).
